"In those days when the number
of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them
complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows
were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and
said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the
ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.
Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known
to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn
this responsibility over to them and will give our
attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."

Favorite Scripture: "I lift up my eyes to
the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - He who
watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is
your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the
moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch
over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now
and forevermore." (Psalms 121) |

Favorite Scripture: "The Lord is my
shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green
pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my
soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's name.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort
me. Thou preparest a table before me in the p0resence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I
will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." (Psalms 23) |
