The New Antioch Baptist Church was organized February 22, 1952 under the leadership of Rev. Joe Z. Williams and thirteen members. When organized, the church was first given the name “New Pilgrim Baptist Church.” Deaconess Ruth Tanner later changed that name to its present name.
The New Antioch Baptist Church was first located at Ann and Jefferson Streets. Due to its rapid growth, it was necessary to see larger quarters for worship, thus the church moved to 1022 Harford Avenue. In 1957, the late Rev. Nathan Fulton became the pastor. The membership continued to increase as the Missionary Program launched. The church again moved to the corner of Eden and Hoffman Streets in October 1959.
Nearly two years later, in June of 1961, the church was completely gutted by fire. The congregation, with Rev. W. S. Chambers who was acting as Pastor, found refuge at the Second Baptist Church on Guilford and Lanvale Streets where the late Rev. Julius Price served as pastor. On November 1, 1961, the membership was blessed to return to its newly-renovated church building at Eden and Hoffman Streets. The membership continued to grow rapidly under the pastoral leadership of Re. Chambers. During the next decade, the church was blessed to purchase an Educational Center.
The church membership voted on December 15, 1988 to extend the Pastorship to Rev. Dr. Orlando A. Wilson, who had already served as Acting Pastor for an extended period of time. He was installed as Pastor on Sunday, May 28, 1989. Dr. Wilson, by the divine grace and anointing of God, continued to promote new vision in the church and community, building and rebuilding in the name of Jesus. By God’s grace and through Pastor Wilson’s leadership, the church again moved its location to 2401 Saint Paul Street in November 1992, where it now stands today.
The unfolding manifestation of New Antioch’s history is a testimony of God’s wondrous works. Our successes as a church have not come without much prayer and hard struggles. There have even been disappointments and sleepless nights. God has been and still is with this church family. We have experienced unspeakable JOY as a corporate body. Right now, this present day, we as a church can attest to the fact that we are walking in immeasurable favor with God.

Our Mission
We are a church that serves as a beacon of light in a relationally dyslexic culture. We exist to teach, cultivate, nurture, repair, strengthen and build relationship in the lives of all mankind, and we intentionally challenge anything that threatens these relationship goals.
Our mission characterizes us as a church that is moving from Religion (traditions, systems, inhibitions, etc.) to Relationship. We take seriously the command of Christ: "You shall love the Lord God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment, and the secon is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matt 22:37-39). This is a command to take relationship seriously on three levels: God, Others and Ourselves.
We develop, partner, and implement ministries and services to facilitate our goal of building relatinship through the use of spiritual guildlines (the Word of God) and multiple other resources.
Our mission unapologetically exalts God, evangelizes th world, and educates with Christian values. We are in fact building bette relationships to build better lives.
"Having stepped i this place, your life will no longer be the same."
